Ullswater
Free fishing for Brown Trout to holders of a valid Environment Agency license.
Bank fishers should wade with care as there are steep drop offs quite close to the shore in some areas and some areas of foreshore are private, boats can be hired at either end of the lake. The fish can be plentiful but tend to be small.

Haweswater
Free fishing for Brown Trout to holders of a valid Environment Agency license.
Bank fishers should wade with care as there are steep drop offs quite close to the shore in some areas, but wading is not normally necessary as fish tend to be close to shoreline, the Trout can be plentiful when located, boats are not allowed.

Crummock Water
The Brown Trout fishing can be excellent on this lake controlled by the National Trust. Permits and boats can be obtained from Waterend Farm, Loweswater.

Loweswater

This lake is also controlled by the National Trust, for boats and permits see Crummock Water. I have yet to fish Loweswater but have been told that the Brown Trout fishing can be very good.
