Guiding and tuition
Whether you are a beginner or a more advanced fly fisher, I can organise
a day to suit your needs.
For the beginner - Fly fishing is a fantastic sport
and a great way to relax but like any other sport, without proper
guidance, it can be frustrating for the beginner - a day with me will
set you off on the right track, we will cover :
Fly fishing taster days or tuition can be

A typical fly fishing taster day at New Mills will consist of :

An introduction to a
working Trout Farm

What the fish feed on in
the wild and a fly tying session to imitate that food

Safety on the water

Tackle - choosing a balanced outfit, leaders etc.

Casting

Putting what you've learnt
into practice and catching your first fish
Hopefully
you will finish the day having caught your first fish
and hooked on a sport that will provide you with a lifetime of
enjoyment.
For the more advanced - as a guide I can offer you
the benefit of over 30 years experience of fishing the rivers and lakes
of the area or if you want to hone your skills I can teach you some of
the more advanced techniques that should improve your catch rate and add
to your enjoyment of this great sport :

Important note :
Don't forget your fishing licence -
Any angler aged 12 years or over will need an Environment Agency
rod licence, daily, weekly or seasonal licences are available at post
offices or online at :

On occasions, due to unforeseen circumstances we may have to cancel
our day on the river at short notice but we may be able to go to a
nearby stillwater or rearrange for another day
