About me:

My Name is Geoff Johnston, I have been a fanatical fisherman for most of my life and have grown up on the rivers of the Eden Valley and Lakes of the Northern Lakes District.

Like most youngsters I started fishing with bait but progressed to the fly in my early teens and have been a fly fisherman in the pursuit of Trout and Grayling for the past 35 years. I have been tying my own flies since 1982 and have designed many of my own patterns - some of which have proved very successful.

I did dabble with competition fishing for a while, fishing on many reservoirs including Rutland and Grafham but always found myself wishing I was back on my home waters so although I have nothing against this arm of our sport it was not for me.

I am now a guide and tutor on the Eden system and also offer guiding and fly fishing tuition through John Norris fishing tackle of Penrith.
