Lake Fishing
Ullswater
In my opinion Ullswater is the jewel in the crown that we call 'The
English Lake District' - a beautiful lake surrounded by stunning scenery
- and the fishing's not bad either !
I have fished the lake for over thirty years and know it intimately so
why not join me for a day's boat fishing on Ullswater - if you are on
your own we can venture out in my own boat - a very stable thirteen
footer or if you are with a friend or partner a larger eighteen foot
boat can be arranged.
At lunchtime we can pull in to one of the many bays, get the kettle on
and admire the views.

Drifting the shores of this beautiful lake fishing a team of traditional
wet flies and/or including one or two of ' The Ullswaters ' a series of
very successful wet flies developed by myself over many years of trial
and error, and now available at John Norris of Penrith can be very
rewarding.
Although the lake will produce sport throughout the season, mid March
to the end of June is the peak period with a light ripple and cloudy
skies being the perfect combination for a good day's fishing - if the
conditions are not right there are plenty of rivers in the area so the
day need not be wasted.
Mayflies start to hatch in earnest by mid May and the trout are soon
on them offering great sport to mayfly imitations.
Haweswater
Haweswater reservoir was created in the late 1930's and is situated in
the beautiful Mardale Valley.

Although the reservoir contains Trout and Perch, it is the wild Brown
trout that are our quarry.
Bank fishing is the name of the game here and the best way to fish it
is to travel light with rod and rucksack - I can take you to the shores
and bays that produce the best sport for me and if you're lucky you'll
get a view of the 'Golden Eagles'
